After Being Stranded In The Woods With A Dead Cell, This is a BIG Improvement!

Great unit and the Canbus interconnect is fun. Navigation is great. Although this is mounted and wired into an ES700, my wife and I used it for a day of bouncing around Mt Hood National Forest. I tether mine to my cell which stays protected. Great support docs. I'll load Gaia ASAP. One thing on my wish list: make the power cable easier to shorten. It's pretty long and I cannot tolerate wads of excessive wires. I did cut and solder. Next purchase is the controller.

Excellent

Not only was the device everything it was advertised to be and more, but the customer support and service by Tim was exceptional. Quick to respond and help with any questions and concerns, and shipped very promptly. The T665 is perfect for my FE501 which I use for single track, dual sport and light ADV use. It meets and exceeds my expectations as a dedicated GPS unit so that I am not relying on my personal phone alone. The interface is straight forward and all the support from the FB group has helped me out a ton with any questions I did have. I can run OnX, Gaia and DMD2 all individually or collectively on this device, while importing any GPX files off my Google Drive folders without any issue. The OBD2 Bluetooth reader was a great addition as it allows me to get all my ECU readings right in front of me while riding. Highly recommend this device for anyone considering a stand alone navigation system.

This is what you're looking for

After using a Trail Tech Voyager and being pretty unimpressed, it works but is clunky and really showing it's age, I found this unit. I ride a Husky FE501 and needed something small and easy to mount on the Flexx Bars. This fit the ticket and you can get creative with the V3 heavy duty off-road mount it comes with to mount it between the Flexx Bar cross braces keeping it low profile. I'll be using this mostly for multiple day off-road trips and Baja. It's very convenient that maps are available for any region and you can import gpx files from anywhere a phone can, like from Google drive if you planned your route on your computer. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces.

Great GPS

Used many GPS systems prior to this one and have had mixed feelings about all of them. Each one missing certain things that required another device. The Android system makes this device great, I can load any app that I need or want and have it 1 button away. Its bright and holds location well even prompting you when you are getting off track. Only about 1000 miles on the device so far but I am impressed, works like it should without questions just does its job. Mount is solid as well, hasnt gotten really dirty yet but it definitely holds the gps nice and tight.

Good phone/nav system, with a few tweaks

Out of the box, the t665 is well-built, solid and free of any extra bloatware that's normally found on typical "cell phones". The screen's viewing area is just slightly smaller than a Galaxy S9+ (which is what I'm replacing as my nav unit on my bike), but really not enough to be noticeable.
The screen colors are a definitely less vivid than the S9+ though, which was a bit disappointing at first, but once its on the bike and running, again, its not enough to be noticeable at all. I doubt folks will be buying this phone to play video games or run photoshop, so it shouldn't be a big thing.
I also found that the phone was just a bit sluggish as compared to my very tweaked S9+ (running a different os and stripped of everything unnecessary to DMD2 running on it!), but with a few minutes of tweaking and disabling unnecessary stuff, its more than fast enough to handle nav with music and other stuff all at the same time!
Haven't taken it on any long rides or overnight trips just yet, but it stayed at 100% battery on a 1½ hour ride. It also stayed put incredibly well on some fast, rough 2-track with lots of rocks and a few whoops, so I'm confident in its locking magnetic charging base.
Brightness is excellent and almost as bright as my KTM's main screen, which was a nice surprise! I'm sure I'll have to dim it at night, as that will be blinding in the dark!!!
Something nobody ever mentions about screens either, and that's orientation with polarized sunglasses. This unit in the landscape mode does dim slightly when looking directly at the screen, but a pleasant quirk with this is that my Arai XD4's face shield nulls that completely when closed! Thought that was a bit strange, but I'm glad it does that! A bit further with the polarized angle with the screen and an open face shield, the dimming of the screen isn't bad, there's a bit more of a blackout when angling my view slightly to the left about 10-20º, so they made that screen's polarizing effect at a good angle. A few phones I've used in the past would completely black out the screen and I'd have to look at the phone sideways to see what was going on! Thankfully, this doesn't do that at all.

Overall, a very solid phone and excellent nav system and worth the cost!
(note, screen does not come with matte finish! That is an aftermarket laminate for anti-glare)
