I installed the sunshade on my nav unit and immediately noticed better visibility in the daylight AND less water on the screen in downpours. Very useful and quite worth the minimal expense. The thumb screws on top allow for quick and easy conversion if you want to use the tablet around the house but I find I like holding the unit with the sunshade on as it opens up my grip.
Not sure how but it makes the screen seem crisp in bright light. If I break it, I'll likely buy another.
